PLEASE HELP

Hey guys! I have a quick question (I hope)! anyways I bought a 2003 audi a6 2.7t. the tranny was bad so I bought a used one and had it installed. The car drove fine for about 2 months, then the CEL came on with a torque converter code. I figured since the tranny was used that the fluid and filter was dirty so I changed the fluid and filter that codes is gone now! but now right after changing the fluid code P0706 came up and now the car is in limp mode!? any suggestions to what I might try or do i need to replace the trans range sensor? Thanks for any input!

Beware....the torque converter code probably indicates a failed seal (common for tiptronic trannys). I'm betting the code will be back. I changed my fluid and it came back again. Tranny rebuilt. OK now. Your choice whether to have it fixed. Just reduces mileage. I had to get mine fixed because it's an automatic smog police fail in Kalifornia. I'm now a refugee, living in Idaho....like getting out of prison!

Your living in your own private Idaho, quote B52's.

You need an new converter :( I just got that code last year, so I rebuild my engine while I had the engine out of the car. I got one off of ebay with an upgraded seal for the P0741 code and now it has no codes :) If you run that converter, you risk damaging the engine. Some run the car as is and frequently change the fluid with no problems. Me, my engine had low compression and the turbos needed rebuilding, so I opted for the obvious. There's a lot of info out there on the P0741 code ;)

Good luck
