Default Power Steering Fluid Level in A6 Allroad 2.7l 2007

I can see the min & max level indicators for the 20 & 60 deg C temperatures.

Within the max/min ranges indicated on the dipstick, what is the specified OPTIMUM level at each temperature - or is there an optimum position when checked cold?

If your temperature is within the range mentioned then a level between the min-max range should be fine.

The handbook doesn't specify in a helpful way, but we presume that the upper temp of 60 deg C must be an operational temp for the fluid within the power steering system when the engine is at optimum running temperature, and that the lower 20 deg C must be an ambient air temp with the engine cold. Within that range we would be checking the engine cold and feel there must be an optimum fluid level on the dipstick which Audi have failed to confirm and which isn't obvious from their handbook. That's the information we're trying to find and appreciate your trying to help.

Are you sucking air when it's cold? Add some fluid.

Is the fluid overflowing the reservoir when it's hot? Remove some fluid.
