Default its alive!!!

For the past few months my 04 A6 Avant was not doing well at all she started running rougher and rougher and threw a bunch of codes. And to makes matters I need to get it smogged checked for reg. renewal. So I took it to a audi repair shop and got the bad news. she had vacuum leaks and needed fuel injectors. Total around 4k in repairs. I was about to throw in the towel when I thought I would give it a half ditch effort. So I got a set of refab injectors from ebay, approx $100. checked for leaks with a 2 cans of carb cleaner from autozone, $12.00 and a couple of ebay vacuum hose connections, approx $9.00. I had two vacuums leaks and replaced the damaged hose with some old hoses I had in my tool box and patched one with the vac hose connections. Cleared the codes and fired her up. she ran perfect but in 50 miles she threw two codes both lean condition. So thru Google I found that it could be the pvc valve.. So for another approx $75 I ordered a pvc valve kit thru Rock Auto. I installed it and once again it ran beautiful. I drove her for over 100 miles before having the smog test. When I took it, it would not the the tech. test it because it needed to be driven a few more miles. So off I went for an another 100 miles on both city and freeway driving and repeated the test. This time it past. So for just under $200 buck she back. SO i treated her to a bath and wax. and topped it off with a fresh set of new tires. So why am I saying this, Dont give on your Audi if the garage quotes you some high price. You can do things a lot of different ways that they cant. Just commit yourself to it.

Hell yes, what he^^ said.

I don't think I've seen those wheels before (and I'm a bit of a VWAG wheel geek). What are they called?

Good luck with it in the future,
Tom
