Hi folks, I am looking to buy my first A6 around the 53' to 55' age, are there any main points I should be looking at when buying it, thanks for your help Arnie.

If you are planning to buy a current model (2012-2015) A6, you should post your request for information on the C7 board. The C5 A6 (which this board/forum deals with) was produced from 1998 to 2004.

Arnie, welcome aboard! You should post what model years you are interested. The majority of people here (located in the USA and Can) have no idea what 53 plate and 55 plate mean.

That was my take on it too.
But let's not scare him away, either.
Just tell him to buy a new one with a warranty and he'll love the car and get addicted to it even when the warranty is up and it costs big bux to maintain and repair.
