Hi
The universal joint on my propshaft is worn and I've been told it is not possible to repair. The part seems very hard to find second hand and is £1,500 new. Can I use a propshaft from a different model, e.g. a S6?

My car is a C5 2003 2.7t and the original part number is 4B0521106E. The 250bhp model chipped to 320bhp.

You need only to replace the center U joint and the bearing.
Shop for a drive shaft repair and balancing shop.
Preferably one that will install as the center bearing must be aligned properly.

Thanks BernieBenz. I've tried a couple of places - we don't seem to have many in the UK, but they both said that the Audi ones can't be repaired because you cannot split the UV joint.

Find machine shop that does driveshaft work. I had a center bearing installed recently.

ECS still lists the center support bearing on their website for $100.
