Rear speakers not working
Hello everyone, sorry if there has already been a thread on this issue but I have done alot of research and not been able to find any info on this specific issue. I just picked up a 2004 3.0 quattro the other day and it has been great so far. The sound quality of the speakers is decent but I was playing with the settings the other day and I noticed when I set the fader to the rear, the sound cuts out, for some reason only the rear speakers are not working, front speakers work fine. Also I will mention that this is a non Bose or premium stereo. For all I know the previous owner could have disconnected the speakers. I just wanted to know if there is a known issue like a fuse or an amplifier that could cause this problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Being the non-premium basic unit, my educated guess would lean toward being the main unit itself having an issue. You might check the wiring though. Something could have gotten pulled loose or like you say the speakers themselves might be disconnected. Easy to check by plugging in another speaker if you have one laying around to see if it is getting a signal from the head unit.
