Default Relay Panel fire?

Hey guys, I'm looking at an 02 a6 3.0 for sale (duuuurt cheap) that had a fire behind the dash in the general area of the relay panel. Anyone ever deal with bringing one of these cars back to life? I'm assuming it's related to the headlight switch short recall, since that seems to be a common issue on these cars. I managed to get a couple good pictures of the damage but I didnt have a ton of time or tools to dig in.

IMHO unless it's free go look for another car. This will be expensive to repair. Finding the actual cause will be very difficult. You would need to replace all the damaged components, fix any wiring that was compromised, then power back up. If the problem was not eliminated it will light up again and you get to start over. Just my opinion but it's your money.

Understatement of the year.
...and even when it's fixed, it will still be a 3.0

I would pass. Too many other cars out there that are easier to fix/maintain.

Just to restate what others have written...After the considerable task of repairing the fire damage you will be left with a car that no doubt has numerous more mundane electrical and mechanical issues.
