They look like standard A6 lights (same ones I have)

Yeah, they're pretty much the same.
 

But if you have a pre-facelift A6 4.2, these would be a nice upgrade. Pre-facelift cars had smaller projectors, and only the low beams were HID. Plus, these already have clear corners..

So is mine post-facelift?

Yup. '02+ is post-facelift (at least in the U.S.)
