Default S6 Shock/Strut Options

I'm looking to replace the shocks and struts on my '02 S6. I've been looking for Bilsteins. All the online retailers seem to be listing a B6 HD for the front and a B8 Sport for the rear. Is there a reason for the mismatched setup? Any other shock/strut options from reputable manufacturers?

Stick with shocks. A strut conversion would not be worth the time and effort to develop.

Sorry for the miscommunication but I assumed the S6 had struts up front. I'm not looking to convert anything. I take it from your reply that it's running shocks at all four corners. In which case I'm looking for recommendations on replacement shocks. As I mentioned in my initial post, Bilstein and the online retailers are listing a B6 HD for the front and a B8 Sport for the rear. Is there a reason for the mismatched setup? Are there any other shock options for the S6?

Do you not like the OEM? Must be Sachs or Bogi, right? I thought the factory got it right on that car. Are the Bilsteins supposed to be stiffer?

I believe the stock units are Boge. I've had great experience with Bilstein on my other cars and the quality of their product is second to none. After further research and comparisons, I think I'm set on a Bilstein setup. I'm just deciding whether to go with the mismatched (per Bilstein's online catalog) front B6 HD/ rear B8 Sport combination or a set of B14 coilovers.
