Default Smoking clutch

My mate was towing car yesterday but was riding the clutch when revving high with my car, smoke came from the hood scoop. Should I be worried and what should I do, did he damage something?

One clutch riding episode might not have killed the clutch. You could be fine for thousands of miles. If clutch doesn't slip in 6th gear, don't worry about it. When it does, replace.

Obviously. That's when there is more torque load when you accelerate. When a clutch disk is wearing out, you will notice slipping in the highest gear, then the next highest and so forth.
