So I'm Buying a 2002 Audi A6 2.7T...
Hey people I'm new to these forums and i would like to say i am probably getting an Audi A6 2.7t for my first car, i fell in love with my dad 2009 Audi a4, and now i want this a6 i found, i was browsing the internets and found out how much the Audi's can be modded etc. i was looking at the APR chip for the A6, since i'm in high school all i'm looking for is basically the fastest 0-60 time possible, and i was wondering if the 93 octane chip would do the job. thanks in advance.

He can if his dad is Mitt the Twit! That being said, he could probably afford it if Dad is footing the bill.
Wallyg...you need to understand that buying a used A6 2.7T can be a real moneypit, especially if it has an automatic transmission. And buying someone else's Stage Three whatever is worse...even if it's sorted out (and if it is, why would he sell it?) the maintenance/repair bills are easily in 4 figures anytime you see the dealer or independent.
I'd try a used S4 2.7T first, find a local audi club and ask around.

ok
well its 6000, with 97000 miles with a tiptronic and my dad is paying for it, were sending it to a mechanic to see what he says about it, if it will run for awhile, etc.

Its a great car, just check to see if it has had transmission work. The transmissions on the A6 is good, but the torque converter is sensative. Transmission fluid must be changed at least every 60k miles, if it hasn't been changed yet, in the next 50,000 miles you can expect the torque converter to go out, just happened to me. Luckily I can work on cars and I am buying an aftermarket torque converter, not sure which one yet as I need to do some research on a good one so I won't have a problem with it. Audi claims that their transmission fluid is lifetime. THIS IS FALSE!! : /

I also recently purchased an A6 2.7T, for my first car, 2002 for that matter. And I absolutly LOVE this car, repairs can be expensive... but like with any car take car of them and they will last.

I just bought the same thing, year and all. WATCH OUT for that torque converter, you need to replace the transmission fluid every 60,000 miles or your torque converter will start to slip and cause damage :/ i bought my A6 6 days ago and my torque converter might be out :/ whoever had it before me obviously did not take care of it. Cars are like people!! They need to be taken care of, they just can't take care of themselves I over do it, change my oil with premium synthetic oil every 3000 miles, new K&N Oil Filter every 3000 miles, I change every single air filter every 5000 miles, that includes my air intake and my air condition filter. I would change your transmission fluid every 50,000 miles just to be safe. CAREFUL OF WHO YOU GO TO. A shop quoted me $430 for a fluid change... my mechanic said he will do it for $50. Don't pay more than $150. Don't go to an Audi dealer, they are a big rip off, expensive, rude and don't care about you, only your money.
