Default Tested Nav System Tonight....

Real quick test, entered name of road in my town and let her go. Got me to my destination with clear and concise instructions. Pretty unbelievable! My wife was amazed, "How does it know where we are?" etc. I've read reviews saying the system sometimes gets the directions wrong or isn't very precise, has anybody encountered problems?

Also, certain reviews say that the system is not very user friendly. I used it tonight with just a very cursory reading of the instruction booklet and found it to be quite logical. I'll give it a few more tests tomorrow and see how it works. Anyone have any info or tips they would like to share??

Default I actually "demoed" mine to friends tonight. I like the system. It's useful and accurate.

I'll admit to envy of the large center displays of some other systems, but think that the simplicity of our Audi system is nice. I like the receding bar indicator plus arrows and street names displayed. The voice announcements annoy my wife to no end - though when pressed she'll admit to having used it successfully more than once (more than twice for that matter). All in all a great system if you desire one.

Dislikes?: Sometimes it talks too much!

Default Re: Talks too much...

Think if it were a man's voice it would only tell you ONCE where to turn? (JK!)

Default hah. pit it up against COMAND and tell me it's not user friendly. I love my nav

I wouldn't mind a geek-screen in ADDITION to my Trip Computer display, though. Geek-Screens rule.

Default

Be sure to use FASTEST route, it takes shortest very literally and trys to make a straight line.

Default I normally operate it w/volume turned all the way down. Push down on NAV

button and turn counter clockwise with NAV activated. You will hear the voice volume go down to nothing. Only draw back I found is volume on radio goes down a bit when Amelia (my NAV) talks about upcoming turns, etc.

Default COMAND is frustrating to use.

I was really quite impessed on how intutive the Audi system is. Sometimes a pretty screen is not necessarly the best thing...
