Default Thoughts on brushing my window trim while it's still installed?

My window trim has some minor scratches, as well as what I will choose to call water spots. I'd love to brush that trim as well as the trim piece on the trunk. IIRC though, the window trim is a PITA to remove. If I were to tape everything else off, do you guys think it would be possible to do this without destroying anything? TIA

Default Any idea what I should coat it with once I'm done? I would prefer a brush-on

coating to avoid overspray onto the paint.

Default You're gonna wind up taping off all the areas around it anyway to do the brushing..

...might as well just clear-coat it.

Default I tested a few clear coatings when I did my trunk trim, and didn't like any of them...

I've since left it bare, and after more than three months, it still looks great. If I have to put a protective coating on it later, I will, but SFSG.

Koz.

Default That might be a good idea.. Use my trunk trim as a test strip. If something goes

wrong, it will be much easier to replace.

Default I brushed mine with varying grits of sandpaper.Don't put naything over the trim..

after you brush it you will lose the look you are going for. Any clear coats will give the trim a shiny appearance and not brushed. Good luck.
If you need further instruction LMK

I would avoid a clear coat and use a high quality wax to protect it
