Throttle Body
Hello,
I want to thank you for all the many articles you have on here. I have a 1999 audi a6 quattro 2.8l that thanks to this forum i replaced water pump, timing chain and thermostat. I also just put on the new breather system. The reason.. The car stopped on me 4 months ago and I let it sit. It was leaking oil and cooling everywhere. I found the breather was was burnt all around the engine. I ordered the replacement system from blau parts. Well after doing all this the past two days the car will not go past 20mph. It does not run rough in park, but occasionaly will stall and die. I ordered the vcds today to do the alignment since none of the other tricks to do it would work. I also put sea foam in tank and case, and got alittle back fire but not much help. It has a check engine code of p1545 I noticed today. I read that means to clean the throttle body, but sadly I can not find any pictures for this year and engine to let me know where it is. I am not sure if 2.8l covers multiple years or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Somewhere between the MAF and the manifold is the throttle body. It's generally attached to te manifold. Follow the air back. Remove the hose between the air box and the engine...it's in there after that.
