I confused as to why you would think O2 sensors would be necessary? Sounds to me like it's pretty clear you have a problem with the EGT sensors.

Default Mis-understood codes

I thought i had a o2 sensor codes a couple of scans back, i might have been wrong. I was hoping it wouldn't have been my EGT's since the both started to throw codes at the same time. I was told and read in a couple places they usually don't BOTH go out, and that it might be an o2 sensor, but apparently i was up to late reading and confused myself. And from my common knowledge from past cars, o2's usually cause issues around this millage and i have HORRIBLE gas millage, like 14-16 MPG. I've had this horrible MPG for about a year and never had had any codes except misfires. So that was kinda a inexperienced guess.....

It finally has stopped raining, my garage is full of 6' wood fence panels, so im working in the driveway, It should be dry enough today that ill be able to tare my EGT's out and take a look at them. Thanks for the help, hopefully i find out something today, i miss the stupid car, my truck just isn't the same.

Default may try CRC guaranteed to pass 'G2P' ...

saw in Amazon's user review stated even passed Calif straight inspection.

http://www.amazon.com/CRC-05063-Guar...8130450&sr=8-1

change your spark plugs also if it's been long time.

Codes are clues, not a shopping list. Your O2 codes and poor gas mileage were probably related to the fact that your car was running ridiculously rich due to the boost leak.

Sometimes it's best to pay someone for their expertise
have you brought it to a mechanic who can TELL you what it is ?
because it sounds like you need to get it fixed...

I have had excellent results with this stuff on both gas and diesels I've had http://www.rxp.com/

but that won't fix a mechanical problem.... only a fuel supply or deposit problem...
good luck...

Ya i know, that's why i didn't just go buy 2 EGT's, o2's, plugs and other random **** that i probably don't need at the moment. INSTEAD i looked closer and found a boost leak and a dirty MAF(No codes to show those, since there aren't any really)..... That fixed the running rich problem and the rough idle and seems to shift better under lots of boost. So ya now im STILL left with these EGT codes, which is why i was trying to get some other opinions before i go out and spend unnecessary cash, which would have happened if i would have taken it somewhere, the tear was on the bottom of the Y-boot, i didn't see it until i read somewhere those rip A LOT, then i looked closely and wallah.

I really hope both EGT's didn't just go out at the same time, i've read a couple times that USUALLY both those codes indicate something else. Maybe im the rare case, i just dont want to waste what little time i have pulling and replacing GOOD egt's.

Im not a fan of taking this car anywhere except Euro shops, tried normal shops and got nothing fixed, or a bunch of BS. All the euro shops in town charge almost as much as Audi, i might as well go there if im gana take it somewhere.

Soo i'm here, Thanks for the help and pointers, lol first time someone actually suggested CRC stuff for an Audi, made me laugh a little. Ill just shell out for a Bentley manual and see if that at least tells me something to MAYBE look for, since ya i know codes aren't always what they say they are. All i was looking for was a place to start, figured some experienced c5 peeps would have had a helpful tip...

After the first tank of gas using CRC G2P CAT cleaner, for the next tank of gas I happen to get 23MPG in city driving. That is something I never have for the past 1 year. Generally I only get 18 or 19 MPG in city... I think it did its job and cleans the system.
