Default Turbo Whine...

Am I the only one who actually wishes the turbos were a little louder? I can only hear mine if I am driving with the windows and sunroof down. I actually love the whistle. Perhaps it's a way of actually hearing all that technology working, and sounding like a jet. I just wish I could hear it in the car a little more. I know this is a luxury car also, so sound deadening is an issue, but a little more would be really sweet.........

I feel exactly the same. I love the sound of the turbos whistling. My old 94 Supra made the most wonderful whistle as I make passes along the freeway/highway

what about just upgrading the bypass valves? you think that would make the turbos whistle louder....hehe. my car is stock but i've been looking into that there about $135 a peice for forged bypass valves. Any opinions about bypass valves on stock 2.7T?

Default i've heard of people getting the TT blow off valve or the 710 something something...

but if my info is correct, the blow off valve allows you to hear the "psshhh" sound not the "weeeeeeeeeee" sound.. to get a louder turbo whine.. maybe a chip to push more psi or heck.. K04s BABY !!!!

Yeah larger turbos would be great....but I heard that those just can't be put in and there are many other mods needed to make them work properly because of the increase airflow and not enough gas going into the engine. So I guess larger fuel injectors and all that good stuff is needed.

Or else I would just plug those babies in. I found a site that sells the K04's for little over 2 large which I would do in a heart beat if other things were not needed. Any ideas about that/corrections/advice?

Default achtuning sells the K04 turbos for around 3grand but you need the RS4 intercoolers

plus the down pipe, bi-pipe.. blow off valves.. i mean there's a whole list of stuff to get.. so in total, my buddy who has a S4 with K04s, probably dropped near 5-6 grand on just the parts!!! JUST THE PARTS!!

Default that thing hauls so much ***...you can hitch up a frigging school bus to it and that thing will blow

by anything.. ok that's just silly, but when i got in that car.. while i was putting on my seatbelt, he pulled out of his driveway and around the corner and i fell over in the back seat and couldn't get the damn belt on...
we were flying up this hill and my neck was hurting from the g forces. The last time I had felt that much power was in a 96 993 twin turbo..
