turn signal hell. help! (relay already replaced)
About 3 months ago my turn signal started doing some crazy things and, after STFA, I replaced the hazard relay. This did not immediately solve my problem as I had to fit the turn signal bulb just right to make it work. Eventually I did and everything worked fine. Well, starting last week my left turn signal (same one that acted up before) has been going nuts. It stops working every other day and I just have to tap it under the hood to make it work again. The only position I can make it work is with the slightest of a turn rather than the full turn to the locked position. So besides it not working, it's not even fully secured. The strange thing in all this and what makes me think I may need another hazard relay is that when the left turn signal does not work it WILL work when the parking lights are on. Clearly it is not a bulb or the wiring at the bulb holder, but something deeper. Please help cause this is getting dangerous when the left turn signal continually stop working on the highway.

Take the bulb and gray plasctic bulb housing out and inspect the copper connects....
.... for any gray or silver like colorations. Then use a pick, or a needle to scrape away at the connects to clean them. Reinstall and all should be fine.
If you already replaced the hazzard relay and its still acting up, try a fuse, or lastly try and run VAG tools on it to see if its a wiring issue.
Good luck.

I had a similar problem...
The problem was I wasn't twisting the bulb assembly hard enough to get the whole thing to snap in. It felt right initially but would wiggle loose and stop working.
