Warranty issues when chipping a 2.7T

Hello all!

We're considering buying an Audi Assured 2004 A6 2.7T S-line sedan from our local friendly dealership. I know it's 265 HP standard and I know you can get well over 300 chipped. The dealer said chipping voids the warranty...

Are there any chips that act in stealth mode where the dealer might not be able to find its presence unless they crack open the ECU?

Thanks,
Steve

I don't think Dealer will know on most chips. Unless...

Drives it, and checks changes in timing, boost etc. Also when install vag.com registers low voltage to ECU. THis code needs to be erased.

Better option is to get anothe ecu and chip it and replace ECU when you go to dealer. This takes coding ecu to your car.

heres the facts...

if you rturbos blow and they discover the chip, you are SOL. ALL CHIPS/FLASH programs can easily be seen by the dealers computers.
Some are freindly dealers, some are not.

You play....be prepared to pay.

That's why you have to keep a stock ECU handy ; )

Of course the dealer says that it voids warranty...

...the service writer can also deny your engine warranty claim if you can't produce a record of following the manufacturer's recommended service intervals.

I just had my 2.7T A6 chipped with APR's 93-octane program last Friday and HOLY **** is it now a torque monster! I've had the car one year and wish I would have done it sooner!

My ecu only holds one program, which is actually good from the warranty perspective since the presence of multiple programs is a dead giveaway for a chipped ecu.
