manufacturers warranty the same? slissner@avwashington.com is selling just what I'm looking for on the Audiworld marketplace. So I'm wondering since it's an 01 if the warranty is good until the 4 years is up then the other 24 months kicks in up to 100K. Reason is the miles are quite a bit more than I want to see.

Default Of course not. It's 4yrs or 50k, whichever comes first.

Oh wait, the 01 was only 3 yrs or 50k IIRC.

Default Which is what I would have assumed, but in the Assured program it's whichever comes LAST, this is

what made me question it.

Default Dude, you ask a lot of questions, but your reading comprehension skills are not good...

Re-read the Audi Assured terms again, S-L-O-W-L-Y. It is not the later of 24 months or 100k miles. It's whichever comes first.

Granted, AoA may be even worse at clear writing.

It is, on the other hand:

From the AoA website: "two years from the date of purchase or expiration of manufacturer's new vehicle warranty, whichever occurs later, up to 100,000 total vehicle miles". This implies that the Assured and original warranty overlap. But they don't.

From other AoA CPO literature: "Up to a six-year, 100,000-mile Limited Warranty... It begins on the date of the Certified pre-owned slae, or on the date following the expiration of the Limited New Vehicle Warranty, whichever occurs later. It continues for two years or 100,000 total vehicle miles from the date the vehicle was first placed in service, whiehever occurs first.

Or: "The Audi Certified pre-owned Limited Warranty covers up to six years or 100,000 total vehicle miles from the date the vehicle was first placed in service as a new vehicle, whichever occurs first."

P.S.: buy what YOU like... we can't make the decision for you. New, Old, 4.2, allroad, lease, buy, manual, Tiptronic, BMW, will it break down on me...

Default Yeah, I've seen it. And read it.

Sorry, dude, not trying to be an ***, but attitudes like that ain't gonna get you many more answers.

You want to buy a car, do your own fvcking research. You want a $30,000+ car, but you want us to do all of your ciphering for you? Give us a break. For a guy that's been obsessing over this, asking every question under the sun, you'd think you would also be interested in figuring things out for yourself. This is simply a matter of reading 3 sentences.

On the other hand, I hope you've found that we're all happy to answer specific things that may be confusing or to supplement ideas with our own experiences.
