Where to locate the microphone
I have a 2002 A6 4.2 and am about to install a new head unit and backup camera. The Kenwood DDX9703S unit I am installing comes with apple carplay and of course allows me to answer my phone with it.
Where do I install the microphone? What have you guys done and what is the most convenient location?

I had a nice head unit installed in my old passat. What I did was run the line up along the drivers A pillar and mounted it on the vanity mirror. In hindsight I would have maybe kept it on the A Pillar or maybe tried to mount it on the steering wheel neck. People had no issues hearing me nevertheless.
