Default Window guide replacement with a twist

As I posted earlier in the week, my '00 4.2 had a broken passenger side window guide the wasn't covered by the LQ service bulletin. I ordered 2 of the replacement pink guides (4B0 837 463B) for a total of $10. Read through some of the replacement procedures in the archives, and started the job. The whole replacement procedure literally took 45 minutes. I did not need to remove the window frame to replace the guides. I used a short T-27 torx bit and 1/4" ratcheting box end wrench to remove the two bolts holding the glass to the guides. The window was about halfway down for the procedure, but had to be moved up/down slighlty for better access a couple of times. There is just enough play in the window glass to free it from the guide and slide up and out of the way. Then just popped the guides off and installed the new ones. One trick I found is to thread the bolts into the new guides before installing, this way when installed its much easier to get them started with the tight access. I also relubed the tracks, because there was little or no lube on them at all. Local dealed quoted me $275 for this repair. What I joke!
