cranks but won't start. tried so many times and battery seems getting weak and weaker and and dead. when i turned over it was cranks and wont start the engine now it won't even cranks... any idea

let me be more specific. couple month back my audi a6 had hard time to starting up the ignition. it turns and off right away. i saw battery level was low i went to pep boys to replaced the battery. but after cold weekend i tried to start the car it was only cranks and won't start the engine. i went back to pep boys they replaced the cranks shaft sensor or something but still not working. they told me to take it to the audi dealership for service they think it was the HPFP. after i got out and i tried to turned several times and now i got no battery. only inside lights is working. no head beam no dash board light.(on and off randomly) question is now i got into more serious situation??

Based on your posts I am guessing that English is your second language. Where are located? What engine do you have?

yes i'm from Asia. i'm located in long island NY. its V6 engine. this morning i tried to start now it doesn't even crank. no light window not working but inside light and cigarette light is working. pep boys stated i tried many many times it might impact alternator. now fuel pump(not sure it's injector, fuel pump relay or fuel pump) isn't the issue now. any idea Kevin??? thank you

First thing, get your battery checked properly or if you've never replaced it...do that. Second, get yourself to a german car mechanic...no Pep Boys doesn't count, and get them to diag it for you.

Based upon what you've stated in this thread, I'm almost positive that you have an issue with you battery and will need a replacement.

i changed the battery 2 weeks ago. it cranks first time and now no cranks at all. pep boys told me i tried so many time it might impact alternator.
how about starter?? or steering column??
pep boys found out it was a crank positioning sensor but it wasn't and they called Audi dealer
and they advised it could be the fuel pump. but now i'm stuck in another issue.
need advise

where on Long Island are you located? Have you scanned the car for codes? I may be able to help you with diagnosing the problem
