Default 2006 A6 Arm Rest Clip

Hi,
I just got a 2006 Audi A6 and am very excited! awesome car! the only thing is the center arm rest clip broke off. when i lift up the center armrest console, the cover just opens up and everything falls out

has anyone experienced this? is it a simple fix that I can do by myself?

also, the cupholder cover lost is smooth/slow opening ability. when pressing it open, it just snaps open instead of slowly gliding open. is that also a simple fix?

thanks!!!

Hi,

sorry, it's actually a 2005....not sure if that matters. I think the arm rest is the same.

It's a simple fix. Mine was covered under warranty with a $25~$35 part replacement. You can even do it DIY or if your car is covered under warranty, claim it!

It's called a cover assembly right? That's the only thing I can find that looks like that clip.

I literally JUSt got off the phone with my audi dealership in Brookline MA and they are lookign at a bunch of things. That clip being one of them and they told me $149.00 to fix it.

I also somehow blew my powersteering and the fluid leaked all over the engine and I had ZERO fluid.. :-O

do a search on the forum. I replaced this on my 05, got the part from genuinevwaudiparts.com. I think the price someone else mentioned of around $30 was correct. Pretty easy to replace as well.
