2007 Audi A6 3.2l muffler delete check engine light
Hey, so I'm looking to buy this white on beige 3.2l 2007 Audi A6. Car has very low mileage with only 133,000 kms (82,000 miles) The price is very good due to some minor cosmetic damage. The car had recently had the muffler deleted and on my test drive I saw the check engine light on. I asked the owner what it was about and he said it was on due to the muffler delete. Does anyone have any info on that?

I don’t, but it sounds a bit suspicious to me. Unless you can verify for yourself what fault codes are showing to cause the CEL to illuminate, I would advise you not to accept the seller’s explanation with blind faith.

I asked a friend of mine, who owns a popular custom exhaust shop here in NJ. He has also worked the exhaust on my Audi, and my Jag XKR convertible (which throws codes when you wax it wrong). He indicated that after sensors, cat, etc it will not throw codes. Even cutting out the resonator won’t affect.
