2008 A6 4.2 V8 serpentine belt replacement

i have a 2008 a6 4.2 and fixed the oil leaks but the serpentine belt is soaked in oil and squeaks all the time. is there a way to replace it without taking the front of the car apart. and if so how do I do it. not sure whats going on?! can find all the information on the non v8 motor but none for the v8. thanks for the help!

You need to take the nose off.

you don’t have to take it completely off but mostly. Enough to get your hands in there and work, but don’t have to Dosch next coolant hoses. There are videos on YouTube.

For what it is worth, I was able to replace the serpentine belt on my 05 4.2 without taking the nose off. It took patience, and some long screwdrivers to push the belt into place, but it IS doable from underneath.
