I'm in the middle of getting mine repaired through http://www.cheapabs.com. It took me about 45 min to remove the module. I followed the video on his website and it was easy. I haven't received the module in return yet so I'll update when I do and install it back in.

I used Module Masters for my previous C5 and they were great. Very quick turnaround...SAME DAY! and the unit lasted for as long as I owned the vehicle.

I got an email back telling me that the work was completed. Not only did he fix the failure points but also redid the points that commonly fail. So far I'm impressed with a one day turnaround and the extra effort to ensure that my module doesn't fail again later! I will update when I get the module installed. It should be in about 3-4 days.

Also you can have an Indy remove it for you. Should be less than an hour in labor if they've done it before.

I have an A6 3.2Lq. I was able to remove the module without disconnecting any brake lines. Not a big deal at all. Just follow the video posted above. I should get my module back on Fri or Sat. While I was under the hood I fixed a cracked vacuum hose and cleaned the throttle body (it was dirty!). Once I get it all back together I'll clear the codes and do the throttle body adaptation. Hopefully that'll get rid of MIL and the rest of the lights on the dash.
