2008 A6 - Intermittent Homelink
I recently bought a 2008 A6. I finally got around to programming the Homelink for my garage door. It was really driving me crazy because I would go to program it and I could not get the light on the console to light up or flash. Then, the next time I'd drive it, I'd press the button and it would light up. I finally got it programmed when the light would light up. It clearly only works intermittently. I cannot figure out what makes it work and not work. The back lighting on the 3 buttons works all the time, but the light only flashes every once in a while. I don't get any VCDS errors when I scan. Does this seem like it would be a bad conneciton at the module end or within the console end? I would think module end since the backlighting works. I did some searching to see where the module is located and it seems to vary but in general it's on the passenger side in the bumper. Anyone have any ideas?

It did not work when I pulled into my driveway this evening. Just went out to check (3 hours later) and it worked. I can't imagine it's a loose connection since I did not move the car between it not working and working. Guess I'll have to dive into the front end this weekend and figure out where that module is.
