Default 2008 Audi A6 Oil overfill

2008 Audi A6 quattro. I accidentally overfilled the oil and the car does not shift. I placed the car on ramps, drained the oil and filled it with 6.9 quarts as recommended by the user manual. I started the car and checked the dipstick and it was over the max level. I drained half of the oil out, started the car and the car does not shift. I ran VCDS and I am getting engine fault 005668 MIL Request Signal Active (check TCM for errors too) and Transmission error 009984 Transmission Friction Element / Clutch A. Any ideas what to do? Thanks.

Troll?

It’s been years since I’ve seen one of those “I tried to change the engine oil but accidentally drained the ATF instead” posts.

I am a fairly new to Audi's. I've owned one and regularly changed the oil for last three years, so I am pretty sure I did not drain ATF fluids instead of an engine oil. Thanks for for your reply. Not helpful though.

You over filing your oil has nothing to do with your transmission error codes - unless you really did accidentally drain that instead

I'd recommend checking your transmission fluid and since you've just likely never changed that or the filter ... It's probably well past due.
