I have found that BG44K works better than the Techron. Just my two cents.

Default Part question?

I am going to clean carbon deposit from my valves. The question i have is do i need to get two of each gaskets or this part number is for set? Thank You.
Gasket set - upper intake 06E-129-717-B (two or one?)
Gasket set - lower intake manifold 06E-198-717-A (one or two?)

The part numbers are for set, and you need one each.
Good luck on your carbon cleaning.
Please report back on your progress and finding.

gk1 and mystrodo,
Thanks for complements.
I used Seafoam and have a write up ready to post but can not post a new thread anymore. I got this message "Post rejected because of a score of: 43 Rejection set to: 30." I e-mailed webmaster and pierreb yesterday for fix.

The blasting material you mentioned is walnut shell. I did some research about it. There is cheap machine that needs an air compressor.

My Audi had 58K miles and the real issue I had was check engine light because of a faulty high pressure fuel pump. Before that I noticed slight rough idle at first startup when cold from the time I bought it as used car at 46K. I actually took it to dealer for that and got typical "no problem found" response.
I have the same issue with the check engine light and the faulty high pressure fuel pump (which the dealership has replaced and the problem has came back.) I will look into cleaning the intake valves. Thank you for the good writeup and the information.

I think it took him so long because he had to fabricate tool, make picture and post the write up. Otherwise audibug would finish it in 20 minutes.

LOL - great job. Thank you for write up.

Great job and thanks for the pictorial DIY. Not that I can do this myself unfortunately. I am mastering the art of filling tires with air still.

Cleaning those valves takes about 15 to 20 minutes per cylinder if you would like to make them nice and shiney! About an hour of R&R time, and I always run a BG fuel injection cleaner thru the FSI injectors.

Then they run nice and smooth!
