Very glad that this helped. I obviously can't take credit for the contents of the link I posted, but if you are ever in the Allentown PA area, I'm always happy to have someone buy me a beer!

I know this is a old thread but I was hoping to call upon the knowledge you guys had from last time. I am getting the G40 cam position sensor message.

I've tried the "shock therapy" and will try again. The thing that worries me.... Block 93 shows bank 1 intake cam at 34 degrees. The other intake and both exhaust cams are 3-4 degrees.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I did the "shock therapy" on my failing bank1 exh solenoid.
It did the trick! (so far)
THX for the guidance!

Take a look at the adjacent measuring blocks. One of them puts the intake cam solenoids through a functional test. Go through the test to see if the bank1 cam timing solenoid is functioning properly. If not, sock it again. if that doesn't. work, you may have to replace it.
Or, i could truly be a sensor issue.
