I just went ahead and checked ETKA for an '06 C6 A6 for grins and there are quite a few part numbers due to production date ranges and, of course, interior color codes...
Driver side rear door ashtray
4B0 857 405 A
Date range : Color code
04/04-06/05 : EC3
09/04-06/05 : 8C1
4B0 857 405 B
07/07+ : EC3
09/04+ : 6PS
07/05-05/06 : 8C1
06/06+ : 12T
Passenger side rear door ashtray:

I have 2005 A6 C6 black color interior and driver's side rear door ash tray is missing. Then what part number should I order above part numbers? Also, the lid has disappeared. Does it come with the lid?

You should probably order 4B0–857–406–A–6PS (sabre). Because the part comes with a color code, it will include the whole assembly, i.e., removeable ashtray, lid/body holder. To verify, remove your left side – the only differnece between left and right is the right is –406 and the left is –405 in the P/N.

In case you've not replaced your ashtray yet I just did this on my 05 and it was an easy job. I pulled the ashtray portion out of the main body housing and there are two small tabs on the sides toward the front. Simply pry out on those and the main body will come out. Unplug the light wiring. Plug the new one in and press it down...you're done. The new ash try is the entire assembly with the housing, ashtray and lid.
I have no affiliation with this place but found their prices to be reasonable and delivery time was acceptable.
