Thanks all
I will go ahead and order it from genuinaudi.
And yes I do sometimes smoke in the car lol but that's been missing from the previous owner.
I really appreciate all the replies. I will be back with result soon. Thanks.

FYI, www.genuineaudiparts.com has lower prices than www.audipartsnationwide.com.

Is genuineaudiparts popular around here? Anyone had any issues with them? You might want to check on shipping rates too. There was a specific reason I didn't order through them. Maybe its because they don't publish a phone number on their site. I didn't like the idea of not being able to call them if there were problems.
my ash tray is broke and i dont smoke and if i did i would never smoke in the back seat anyway but the cover lid is dangling and my 3 and 5 y/o daughters play with it and that bothers me
im going to hate the price but i will just tell myself that im buying a LAMBORGHINI ashtray since the Gallardo grabbed it from our parts bin

here are 2 helpful pics to show what audia6fan correctly described
pics are of only one side but there are 2 tabs ..1 on each side
The arrows show the tabs that need to be pulled in when lifting ashtray up to remove
