it just passed fuel pressure test by ADOT for emissions. 2 days later code pops, possibly that caused something to fail.

Hi Justin,
Your vehicle is a C5, so post the question on the c5 subforum.

It sounds like a leak from the roll-over valve on the top of the tank, I say this because of an Audi safety recall about this around 2008 to reinforce the valve with an epoxy patch, I had it done and most all plastic tank owners did too.

You can call the dealership to see if that car was done, outside of this I really can't say much more but you can search the forum about this recall.

BTW here is the bulletin link https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recall...intVersion=YES

Note: Your car might not fall into this but you should still check with the dealership.

I've always had this evap code and not sure if this was done on mine but, replacing the N80 valve (when it stops working) and the fuel cap (I've replaced the O-ring) some times does this and other times MIL goes away. If the cap seats properly, it works I guess. Need to buy another cap.

Interested in the exact location where you patched with epoxy..

Contact the nearest dealer and have them check the VIN # to see if the recall was done. I bought my 2004 A6 in late 2014. Took it in for service in early 2015. The dealer said it needed the recall and it was done at no cost. Worth checking in to. If you're near Tucson, Chapman is the dealership. They will most likely provide a loaner while your vehicle is being worked on to do the recall. Only takes a few hours but recommend you schedule an early time for your appointment. Not a big fan of dealers but in this case, yeah.

I know, but the thought of taking my car to the dealer(or other auto repair places) scares the daylights out of me!

I'll call them and give the VIN to see if it is done without giving my car. Also, I'll see what's the actual repair involved with bulletin.

Your reply inspired me to start a new thread (check it out : Tales from the autoCrypts)

I understand how you feel but if Audi owes you a recall repair, well there you go. I sure wouldn't do it out of pocket. Have the car documented that there are no other issues when you drop it off.
