about to buy a 2008 audi a6...Ipod/aux/camera/bluetooth questions!
1. does it have bluetooth standard?
2. Glove compartment had 6 cd changer. Whats the BEST way (CHEAPEST) to get AUX or Ipod. I prefer AUX so i can install Blackbery Music server

It all depends. Mine has 6 CD changer, iPod hook up (not aux), I also have a2dp for Bluetooth music streaming from my iPhone. To retrofix aux people suggested dension products.

Bluetooth is standard, check the manual for the instruction how to connect it. Every A6 have this connector

you could buy different kinda plugs, for ipod, 3mm jack, small USB...etc

And I dont have that module. I have a 6cd changer in the glove compartment!
Making me rethink the purchase!

Strange, in manual is bluetooth is standard on 08 A6, even i got and my A6 is base model (quattro, but no sunroof, heated seats, navigation...etc.). Mine doesn't have a ipod connector, but that plug is still there next to the cd changer behind the plastic plug.

told you so ;o). Turn the bluetooth on the phone, insert the key in the ignition (i think you got like 2min after key is in), press on the phone search for new devices and connect. Code is set 1234, factory setting. Than you can select option that every time you enter car phone will connect automatically. On the MMI you will see bluetooth icon and signal (so you know if you have a coverage).

I think there is some confusion goong on here. For BT HandsFree just put the key into ignition, wait a minute, search for BT device (on your phone), Audi HandsFree will show up (on your phone), pair it, enter 1234 code (default) and voila, you have successfully set up your HandsFree BT phone. If you don't have AMI on yout car (only the CD changer) then you will either need to retrofit AMI (expensive way) to have iPod hook up, aux, or a2dp capability or you can purchase dension 500, tap it onto lead for CD one on CD changer and instead of (when selection) listening to CD 1, you will hear whatever is playing on your AUX device. I've seen people without AMI connected a2dp onto lead wire for CD1 instead of dension 500. Hope it's clear now.
