My music collection is too big for my 8 gig iPhone so I keep an older iPod in the glove box. So until I replace my current iPhone with a 16 gig model, this wouldn't really be a necessary improvement over the current AMI setup.

sorry to tell you but your iphone doesn't have A2DP unlike many REAL smart phones or pocket pcs
