Default AMI Issues

I have replaced the CD changer with an AMI unit that I got off of ebay. When i start the car and click on aux, it says "the device is being initialize please wait". That message never goes away. Also, when I plug in the Bovee bluetooth adapadapter to the AMI unit, the lights do not light up on it and basically the device is dead. My mmi software version is 4140. What could be the issue? Could it be a faulty AMI unit?

Are you certain the MOST connections and secure? Also, check what the VCDS says in the log. I don't think you need to remove CP for the AMI. As for your firmware you're a little behind, the latest is 46.1.0

Right, there is no CP for AMI. We have been chasing this on Audizine as well. I hope he is getting it figured out.

I think there is a software upgrade needed for both his MMI and AMI.

I can't tell the AMI s/w version with what he's posted, but his MMI is definitely not the latest and greatest.

Updated the MMI to 4610 but that didntd help either. Now imI waiting for the Ami to usb cable and will update the ami over the weekend. Hopefully that'll fix the issue. But at least i can see the AMI when I go to sources so looks like the ami is working.
