Default Anyone change a parking brake control module in C6?

Dealer wants 450, but genuinevwaudiparts.com has the part for 250. Anyone have any experience swapping this part out?

I just dropped 2k on a new ABS control module, dont want to give the dealership anymore of my hard earned cash..

Its a 2005 A6 4.2L

According to Bentley it's located in the right rear luggage compartment. In the side compartment below the tools. Instructions just indicate a straight forward replacement. (Doesn't even say you need to disconnect the battery...which they tend to say for everything.)

Removing
Remove side trim in luggage compartment at right rear
Body Interior - Repair Group 70
Unscrew nuts - tightening torque 10 Nm
Remove item - EPB control module with connection.
Pull locking slider up and disconnect connector.

Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:
If control module is replaced, select the function "Replace" of respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" .
Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A

Default Update on how the parking brake control unit replacement went?

Hi ncarvain,
the parking brake malfunction indication on my dash is on and the dealer says i need to replace the control module. Do you have the part number to buy it from genuineaudiparts.com? and how did the replacement go? Is there any coding involved post replacement?

I hear it is very simple to do, which it sounds like it is. I believe i read some where its located under the tool kit in the trunk. Speaking with an audi parts seller, i was told that they have already sold over 100 units this year. So it seems to be a common problem; however so far I cant find anyone who has actually done it.
