audi a6 3.2 timing problem

Hello all I recently was referred to using this site by my local dealer, I have an 2005 Audi A6 3.2. I bought it in non running condition thinking that the timing would have to be done and tensioners replaced. After removing the engine and taking off both the valve covers and upper timing chain covers I found out someone else already replaced the parts, the problem though.. the didn't lock the cams or the crank so my question for anyone able and willing to help is how should. I go about moving the canshafts my assumption is I will have to take the sprockets off and rotate them but my other assumption is these all have to be rotated at relitivly the same time as well as the crank which won't just be as simple as turning one with the sprockets off. Please any help here would be amazing.

Read through the following thread...Fastbird did a great write-up on his work with timing and engine removal: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...gress-2872550/
