Audi A6 C6 4F 2.4 V6 - Camshaft Adjustment Solenoid Valves Question
Hi! I've been reading lots of incredibly useful information on here which will likely solve a problem with fault codes for me tomorrow.
How many camshaft adjustment solenoid valves does each bank have on the V6 2.4 from 2006? I see the intake solenoid valves on bank 1 and 2 (on bank 1 it is next to the engine mount, quite a tight fit) and they are located towards the back of each bank. However, I've seen many pictures in repair manuals which suggest the exhaust solenoid valves should be next to the ignition coils. Problem is, I don't seem to have those.
This shouldn't be a problem however since I'm getting the error code P0011 and P0341 on Bank 1 Sensor A, which I believe is the bank 1 intake valve on the top of the engine on the passenger side. This will come out for inspection tomorrow and possibly be swapped with bank 2.
I should note I've taken the car to both Audi and Bosch who wanted to tear the engine apart and redo the tensioners and chain for the meager sum of $5,000. However, the last owner replaced chains and tensioners due to rattling and chain stretch, so I am thinking the solenoid wasn't changed and have now failed. The car was running perfectly until it one day started vibrating and misfiring on bank 1 out of the blue. The problem is only pronounced when the engine is warm but not on cold starts.
There are absolutely no rattling sounds and it was running perfectly until then. The solenoid therefore seems like the culprit since the engine had already had a chain swap due to rattle, and it is likely that rattling chain and old oil clogged up the solenoid, which now went dead.
TLDR: How many camshaft adjustment solenoid valves does each bank have on the V6 2.4 from 2006? Is it one for intake and one for exhaust? Where are they located?

It ran so bad I had to turn it off quite soon after. Previously it would run, albeit not that great. It also threw a code on the dash that a non-Audi part was installed. Do you think this is indicative of the solenoid being bad?
