Audi a6 heater control valve problem.
Hello new to this forum hopefuly someone can help, i am having bother with the climate control(audi a6 2l tdi 2009) engine up to temp steady 90, the heaters are luke warm if not cold, there is no problem with the matrix as ive ran hot water through them and the fans blow hot air, i have stripped off the heater control valve, and found that the electic pump is starting up and the cutting out. What i am wondering is when the heaters are up high and full whack should that pump be on constantly. I checked the plug with a test light today and seemed to be a constant feed but, i hooked the valve up to a battery with a straight feed and it ran without stopping. Orderd one from vw at 280 pounds but just wondering maybe a bad connection theres a chance the test light wasnt drawing enough current to show up any fault. Thanks for help

I have a 2006 A6, and mine may be different, but these cars and known for issues with the HVAC control valves, and I believe the fans will not run if the system isn't up to temp.
Many folks have disassembled theirs and cleaned them. I attempted this with mine and ended up replacing it with one purchased from Amazon (About $70) and a few hours to replace it. Remote hose clamp tool was a must!
