With JET's support, for which I am very grateful, I've been posting once a month about the TrueDelta's reliability research.

We promptly update results four times a year, and provide actual repair rates, not just vague dots.

Thanks to people here, we'll have a partial result for the 2005 next week. But we need more participants before all years of the C6 A6 can be fully included in the results.

Participants report repairs the month after they occur. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, panel members receive full access to the results free of charge.

345 Audi A6 owners now signed up. A very good start, but more remain needed to cover all model years.

We've updated the results for the A6 to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2006: 54, about average, small sample size

A big thank you to JET, this forum, and everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

According to two independent sources the best which have got low braking issues are A6/S6, these are measured : on each 1000 cars how much getting back to service with major problems :

Interesting numbers. What's the source? Clearly European.

My data suggest that the C6 is likely to be more reliable than the C5.

We continue to need more participants for the C6. 395 A6 owners signed up so far, but most of these are for the C5.

We continue to have far more participants for the 2006 than any other year. Why? I have no idea.

So we'll again have results only for the 2006 next month. Would like to cover all model years, but this is up to owners.

We've updated the results for the A6 to include owner experiences through September 30, 2009. The 2006 A6's reported repair frequency of 75 repair trips per 100 cars per year is about average. We fell just a couple responses short of also having a result for the 2005.
