change engine at 107k mi
Hello ALL,
I just wanted to ask, my engine is at 107k mi and has a minor leak underneath where the engine bell housing and the transmission meets. I found a guy that rebuilds engines for $2k. I haven't had any problems with my current engine; but with the miles I have now, should I get it done anyways to prevent a major engine failure? Any advise would be a good help. Thank you.

Hi Andy,
can you define what that person refers to as an engine rebuild? Since, one of the failure points of some of our engines has been the plastic timing chain guides and if the engine is out, that would be a good maintenance item. Also, check for engine mounts and other items that are poorly accessible with the engine in the vehicle.
