My "summer maintenance" list has grown.
I'll be taking August 4-10th off to engulf myself in it...
So far, the list goes:
replace spark plugs & cam cover gaskets
reseal cam tensioner covers, and replace sticking bank 1 intake cam solenoid.
Do a "seaform" gdi spray to reduce valve carbon
Replace MAP sensor & throttle body (w/adaptation)
Change engine oil & filter (hopefully, these will cure my mild cold engine surging)
Replace lubricant in all 3 differentials
Drain & refill the transmission
Replace rear brake pads
Paint front calipers
Grease front steering joints
Paint wheels
Those should keep me busy for the 5-7 days.

I believe that the surging is caused by mechanical wear, within the throttle's servo motor, allowing the throttle to have a small amount of "free play" that confuses the ecm, causing it to overshoot the throttle positioning, in either direction. Then the ecm compensates, & overshoots in the opposite direction, & it goes on....
