Default Easy way to use the external antenna

I popped out the tray in the armrest and found a connector for the external cellphone antenna. I have a Audiovox SMT5600 Smartphone and found that the Universal External Antenna Connector from Radio Shack fits the SMT5600. It was easy to connect the Radio Shack adapter to the A6 antenna plug and route the wire into the tray. No more dropouts! This should also work for other phones providing you can find an adapter to fit your phone.

No problems with call start/end from MMI. Antenna connection fixed dropped call problems.
No way to download directory, so had to recreate in MMI Names function. I use seperate car charger when needed.
Very happy overall.

Do you have a part number for the Universal External Antenna Connector from Radio Shack? I have the SMT5600 and have dropped calls all the time. It is incredibly annoying. So, you're saying that buy connecting the phone to the external antenna you no longer have any dropped calls?? That would be awesome.

Also, how do you remove the tray without damaging it? My car is leased, so I want to do this is such a way that I can put it back to the way it was afterwards.

Thanks!
