Your ride looks amazing....I'm looking into new wheels in the spring and your DPE Forged LS5 wheels are topping my list. |
WOW!
WOW!!!!!!!
|
Gorgeous! Love the dash! BTW, to do multiple pics in one message try this:
>img src ="http://link-to-your-picture.jpg"<
Just reverse the > and < at the ends to < and > Repeat as needed. |
Dude, that dash is sweet!
|
Very nice!
|
Love it.... very nice.
|
looks nice....would have looked nicer if they flared those fenders a bit more....8^)
|
Just another Audi cost cutting move. ;^) Why have two sets of flares when manufacturing one for...
all is cheaper.
|
sweetness -- lovin' the dash... although more aggressive exterior cues would have been nice
|
yup....but it still suxs....
|
More reasons than cost cutting
The C5 was never designed for a V8 engine configuration. The work-around solution, and it was costly, was to develop a new front end assembly and to widen the track of the vehicle. The fenders were flared to accomodate the wider track necessitated by use of the larger engine.
The C6 was designed from the very beginning to house a V8 and a V10. The C6 is also wider than the C5; therefore, separate fenders were not needed. |
Stunning car!
Everytime I see a S6 the more I like to look of the wheels. At first, I found the design very fussy but now I consider the wheel design technical elegance.

Uhhhh....you DID know that the front fenders ARE flared more on the C6 S6 than the normal C6, right?
|
Great looking car. Where are you in NY?
|
What's your top speed (by now) ?
Nice car. So what's your top speed? I saw a similar car in my local Audi showroom (black on black) and my salesman said it could do 4.7 secs 0-60 (Audi said 5.1 sec).
|
Re: What's your top speed (by now) ?
Well the car feels quicker than 5.1, compared to my previous ride, BMW 545i, and my other car, SL55 AMG, I think 4.8 or so "seems right".
As far as the high end, the car really like to run. In normal "D" mode the car is almost a little sluggish, it goes into 5th gear at 40mph!! But in sports mode the car is much more like the AMG, I hit 110+ with very little effort. So far so good. |
Re: Great looking car. Where are you in NY?
I live in Westchester County...near White Plains.

Bad Ass! Here's a Pic of my 07 4.2 S-Line

Would have guessed that you're not in NYC.
Wouldn't drive a car like that in the city.

Re: Finally some pics!
Thanks - sounds good. You can't go wrong with DPE. The light weight and Forged quality are excellent. I'm extremely happy with my set.

hardly noticeable....

One of the nicest cars I have ever seen-I hope you keep a dairy of driving it...
so we can see how things are going with the S6-again a BEAUTIFUL car!
|
I don't know about dairy (he may be lactose intolerant), but a diary would be great! ;))
and yes, it is a gorgeous car. I LOVE that leather dash.
