Fumoto oil drain plug / valve
Just curious has anyone installed one of these drain plug / valve on their C6? I have a 4.2 but I'm skeptic with installing it since my car is lowered about 1/2 an inch.

Our cars have the oil filter on top so I would advise to use a vacuum to remove the oil if you want it done easier. Fumotos sometimes get damaged or get opened when they hit objects on the ground and can result in catastrophic loss of oil.

Lol ya.. that's why I was skeptic. Though, they do sell a lock for the lever so it doesn't open. Only thing is I think the actual valve might get hit at a pothole or something similar. Guess... I'll just go with a magnetic drain plug.

As you can see by my ride, I'm lowered and also a 4.2 and have never had an issue with the valve.

Lot of buddies swear by those valves. I always figured what is wrong with the plug?
Yesterday I hit Harbor Freight for an extractor in order to do an oil change on my boat with an inboard.
Used it on the Audi this morning. Gotta say... I've always been happy to crawl under and pull a plug. This extractor is such a nice easy and super clean way to do the oil that I don't think I'll go back to crawling under.
Crawling under is easy. I'm not a wimp, I've got ramps and a great jack/stands etc. More than enough tools in my box to supply myself and all my friends with anything they'd need. (used to have 20+ cars at meets at my place) But darn if this extractor doesn't have me rethinking walking to the corner of the garage for the ramps.
If you ask me.. extractor is pretty sweet and there's no splashing, no worries about why I backed into the garage and the little bit of a breeze is blowing that last bit of the oil outside the pan.
