Default Ground or retrofit washer fluid sensor?

I know there is a thread about this somewhere, but darned if I can find it.

Short version: I retrofitted DIS with a new stalk on my '06 A6. After coding with the VAG-COM that it has DIS, the computer now also thinks I have a windshield washer reservoir sensor (which I don't). This results in the low washer fluid animation being on ALL THE TIME. I cannot deal with this light any more. My understanding is that there are two ways to fix this:

1) Install a washer reservoir sensor and hook it up to the car; or
2) Ground one of the pins in the wiring harness behind the instrument panel to trick the car into thinking that the washer fluid circuit is complete (i.e. full).

Can someone help me with this?

Questions:
1) Which of these methods is easier?
2) If retrofitting sensor and hooking it up, what parts would do I need and where to I hook up the wire from the reservoir?
3) If grounding, which switch do I ground? I found a thread on an A4 B6 stating I need to "ground pin 1 on the 32 pin blue connector on the dashboard," but I think there's already a wire in there. Is this the correct wire on my B6 A6 and if so, how does that work?

Thank you!

well....you could look if the wiring for a sensor is factory installed...just loosen the wheel house lining and tahe a peek if you see any loose contact...
if there is ... part nr:
sensor:7M0 919 376
gasket:7M0 919 382
i whould think the reservoir might be prepared for sensor....(guessing here.. =) )

or....
ground that wire..(or cut)...but according to my wiring schematics it should be pin 13 brown/red 0,35 wire @grey 32 pin connector in dash insert..
also available behind A-pillar lower trim....coupling station...there its the 17 pin black connector and pin 9 brown/red 0,35 wire
cheers!/H

Did you ever do this? I am in the same boat.... 2006 A6 bought used and thought someone put the wrong stalk on it as I had no DIS for MPG etc like my 01 TT has. So I replaced the Stalk and recoded it and have the low fluid. Pulled the drivers wheel and to my surprise there is no sensor or wires for the sensor.

And it doesn't appear to be possible to code this warning out.

I did not. Lived with it for five years then traded it in, LOL. Schematics are above, but I have received two contradictory instructions on which wire to ground. (and no, it's not possible to code out).
