Default Hello from Bay Area

Hello all,

Recently I got a 2011 A6 3.0T (facelift). This is my second A6 (I had a C5 before). I may be a newbie here, but not new to VW/Audi comm. I owned some Passat & GTI in the past.

So far I like it, it's a fun car to drive.

By the way, I would like to play a DVD on the MMI while driving (for my kids) but do not have access to VCDS. Anyone local care to help me changing the value/setting? Please PM me & I'm glad to come over & meet up. Thanks in advance.

There is a guy in Palo Alto who rents his VAG-COM out; look for him on Craigslist.

Why don't you try posting on the NoCal forum for a someone to help you out?

I usually help out folks local to me and heck get some good conversation out of it and a 6-pack of beer

Interesting. I may have to look into that VAG-COM rental. I need to update my MMI as well and if there is anyone local who has done it before and can give me some pointers and/or moral support, speak up. The horror stories of rendering the MMI useless have kept me from trying the updates . . .

You can buy the MMI update discs for ~$6 each to go to Version 4150, and DIY. What version do you currently have?

He did it for me with some small fees. Nice guy to deal with.
