I have a 2006 A6 4.2l Quattro S-Line. I ordered the brake pads online and they were the wrong size, so I went and ordered another set online and again I got the wrong size. I keep getting a size too small. Does anyone know where I can find the right pads? My VIN is WAUEL74F86N078961. I'm not trying to pay a lot as I only plan on keeping this car for only another year.

I've found emiparts.com to be an excellent source for quality OEM AUDI/VW parts for 6-7 years. It's a small business owned & operated by AUDI geeks who have always proven to be cost competitive and quick in shipping the correct part! They're in CT and usually ship to me via priority mail. No personal interest other than supporting a good operation. They'll often know of several alternatives for the same part. They'll also tell you when to stick w/dealer'AUDI as source.

The 4.2 has larger brakes than the 3.2

A 5 sec search on this site would have yielded you an answer...you have a 4.2 engine so the your ROTORS should be: rears - 320mm and fronts - 347mm
But to be sure go outside, take off you tires and measure the rotors you have on your car, since if you are not sure and someone else has owned the car before you, they may have changed them.

The genuine front pads are: 8E0698151G - FRONT PADS A6, S6; 347X30MM
rear pads are: 4F0698451F - REAR PADS A6, S6; 330X22MM
