Are you sure that the water isn't in your plenum chamber ? if so your drain tubes are blocked.
Also, is the carpet wet anywhere in your car?

There is two drain under the console. On both side under the carpet. Thoses drain are draining your ac radiator. They drain over the heat shield over the exhaust. The only way to see it is to remove the carpet... They could be just unplug from were they was... And water goes in the bottom of your car.

As royclark said, there is one too under the plenum chamber draining water under the main blower fan. This one can get clog too and water drip on the passenger side.

Hi Guys

the carpets are not wet. I will try and remove the carpet and have a look. I think it is more on the left passenger side i hear it. I dont think its in the plenum chamber? As i never used to hear it its been about 3 weeks now. so I remove the carpet at the back seats and i should see the drain lines? How would i unclog it?

No the drain are under the carpet, under the door to access the pollen filter. So it is beside the left foot of the front passenger.

If i stick a thin metal or plastic wire up the drain outlet under the car where it exits that should hopefully unclog it?

You don't say what year it is.
The floor of the A6 has a double skin, there could be water between the two layers.
Remove the under tray on the passenger side and pull the bungs out underneath.
Any water in there will drain out.

Above is my car with underlining off, blue box & stick are the drainage bungs... remove these bungs

If you remove your exhaust and the 2 heat shield where it exit, try it to stick a small piece of steel wire to see if it unclog it...
